Mondonico is a native Memphian. He is the product of the Shelby County School system and earned his Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies with a focus in Social Work and Behavioral Science from the University of Memphis. He also earned a Master of Divinity degree from Mid-America Seminary in Cordova, TN. While attending Mid-America, he served as student body president. He spent eight years in the United States Navy and is a veteran of Operation Enduring Freedom.
He came into the saving and redemptive power of Jesus Christ at an early age. At the age of fifteen, he experienced the power of the Holy Spirit. It was then when he became aware of God’s call on his life into ministry. Although he knew someday he would preach the gospel, that day did not come for 10 years. While in the Navy, God lead him to Hawaii where he began to mature in the faith at the City of Refuge Christian Church under the teachings of Dr. Wayne E. Anderson. This was his first time serving in a multi-cultural church. During his time there, he served in the choir, the band (worship drummer and bass guitar player), and he worked with the youth.
In 2002, he and his wife moved back to Memphis and opened a lifestyle photography company, Studio Aesthetic LLC. In the summer of 2003 until the summer of 2008, he served as the youth pastor at Hosanna Christian Center. In August 2008, he was challenged to hold off on seminary to attend the DownLine Institute and during that time traveled to the Philippines to equip pastors in discipleship. He joined the diverse staff of Fellowship Bible Church Memphis in 2009 as a Resident Pastor. In November of that year, he was approached with the idea of a church plant. It would take another ten months for him to see that this is where God wanted him to be. In, 2011 he transitioned to church planter and Lead Pastor at the Pursuit Church Memphis.
His ambition as a pastor is to let it be known and said of him that: True instruction was in his mouth, and no wrong was found on his lips. He walked with God in peace and uprightness, and he turned many from iniquity (Malachi 2:6). He is a disciple-maker and believes that discipleship is very important because it is Jesus’ plan to reach the world. He is passionate about the institute of marriage and family. He is excited about equipping the saints for the work of the ministry by fleshing out the gospel in the home, community, city, state, country, and the world! He married his high school sweetheart, LaToshia, in 1998. They have two girls, Mykenzie, Mykilei, and a son, Kylen. As parents, they are diligently raising their children to the glory of God.
